Ergonomic Evaluations

Who needs one?

If you spend four or more hours per day working at a computer, engage in any kind of repetitive motion (the same movement over and over again), hold the same posture for prolonged periods of time, if your job involves lifting and bending, or you are currently experiencing pain or discomfort which you associate with the physical requirements of your job, an ergonomic evaluation of your workplace could be very helpful.

Why is an ergonomic evaluation?

The goal of an ergonomic evaluation is to identify ergonomic risk factors and determine the most effective strategy for controlling or eliminating the potentially harmful effects of force, repetition, awkward postures, static positions, contact stress, vibration and cold temperatures.

How is this done?

A specially trained Physicians Plus physical or occupational therapist conducts a comprehensive ergonomic evaluation of your workplace and work activities to evaluate the following:

  • work station design

  • tools and equipment

  • work posture

  • movement patterns

  • work demands

Based on this evaluation, we generate a an easy-to-understand comprehensive report that details a realistic strategy to injury prevention and for developing an ergonomic program and decreasing risk factors in your company’s work environment.
